A startup, and a café.

Root Cafe is a new venture in Tbilisi. We want to open a café and coworking space for people who work in IT, run by people who work in IT.

Tbilisi has good laptop-friendly cafés, but none that start from the needs of developers, sysadmins, security people and students. Our goal is a place where the person at the next table knows what a VLAN is.

    Developers, sysadmins, security engineers and students are the audience, so the place starts from how they work.

    The aim is a place people use every week, not a theme. The IT identity should be useful before it is decorative.

    The details will come from the IT people who tell us what they need, before anything is built.

Root Cafe is at the planning stage. These are the people who would help it open.

Regulars

Developers, students, sysadmins and security people who would use the place every week and tell us what it needs.

Café operators

Someone with hands-on café or bar experience who can run the floor, the team and the suppliers.

A space

A ground-floor unit of 40 to 60 m² in Tbilisi, close to offices or a university, with room for a street-facing window.
